They've changed the designation a little, but it's still the ol' CP734, and I KNOW I was using his 25 years ago (and it's still torquing). The thing I like about the CP is that it's light. Don't get me wrong, the Ingersoll-Rand Model 231 (also labeled as Matco and Snap-On, and probably a half dozen others) 1/2" impact is the industry standard, but you'll notice a REAL difference after about 4 tire rotations. The IR is heavy. It feels close to double (~8lbs vs. ~5lbs), and what it buys you is about 100ft-lbs of torque ... The wrench arrived as expected. The Sunex 0428 3/4-Inch Drive 15/16-Inch Impact Socket purchased at the same time was almost impossible to get onto the shaft of the CP 772H 3/4 inch impact wrench. Was told to call CP. CP provided two FREE sockets both of which would go onto and off of the CP772H much more easily. I bought this impact wrench to change commercial truck tires, and it didn't take long after opening the box to figure out that it has more than enough power to break any truck lug nut loose. I was a little worried about air consumption, since the impact comes with a 1/2" FPT inlet, but have had no problem running this off my 80 gallon 175 psi, 19 cfm @ 90 psi compressor using 1/2" hose and 1/2" quick connect fittings.My only complaint is that the location of the exhaust port makes it difficult to operate the impact without blowing air tool oil all over yourself. This thing works great and has handled everything I've used it for as of yet. Quite strong compared to some others that I've used and seems to be quite well made. I would certainly recommend this to anyone for medium duty work which is all it will ever see from me. The governer is not the easiest to manipulate consistently and is the only negative I can find, but the paddle is easy to use to vary motor speed so it's not too bad.
